Welcome to WEJ Photography - W Eryk Jaegermann's Fine Art Landscape Portfolio.
Working out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for the past five years, Eryk has traveled and photographed the Canadian and American West extensively. His stylish images have brought a fresh and innovative sensibility to the landscape photography genre.
Eschewing the traditional rules and roles governing modern landscape photography as a quasi-documentary format aimed at repro-ducing as perfectly as possible "what I saw out there" - a mis-leading paradigm which is mostly mythology and falsehood anyway - Eryk seeks to capture not what can be seen with the naked eye per se, but rather the undercurrents of feeling and emotion that a landscape evokes within him as a viewer. To that end, many of Eryk's images have more in common with the aesthetics of Romantic painters (such as Turner) or Black and White photographers (like Adams) than with his modern contemporaries.
